If a person is sick can he/she pray and fast? What are Islamic ways to pray for his/her health? Also, can a person that is sick with a long-term illness go to hajj? What are other ways she can pray?

Yes, a sick person is still required to pray (Salah), but Islam allows modifications based on their condition:

1.If they can’t stand – They can pray sitting.

2.If they can’t sit – They can pray lying down.

3.If they can’t move at all – They can pray with gestures or even just intention in their heart

Islamic Ways to Pray for Health

    1.Reciting Ruqyah (healing supplications):

•Surah Al-Fatihah (7 times over water and drinking it)

    •Ayat-ul-Kursi (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255)

    •Last 3 Surahs: Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas

    2.Du’a for healing:

•اللهم رب الناس أذهب البأس واشفِ أنت الشافي لا شفاء إلا شفاؤك شفاءً لا يغادر سقماً

    •Allahumma Rabb an-naas adh-hib al-ba’sa, washfi anta ash-shafi, la shifa’a illa shifa’uk, shifa’an la yughadiru saqama

•(O Allah, Lord of the people, remove the sickness. Heal for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Yours, a healing that leaves no sickness behind.) [Bukhari, Muslim]

3.Giving Sadaqah (charity) – Charity is known to help in healing and protection.

4.Drinking Zamzam water – The Prophet ﷺ said, “Zamzam water is for whatever it is drunk for.”

5.Seeking medical treatment – Islam encourages taking medicine while relying on Allah’s cure

Sickness in Islam is seen as a test and a means of purification. If borne with patience, it wipes away sins and elevates one’s rank in the hereafter. Trusting in Allah’s wisdom and mercy is the ultimate healing

I would like to add to the previous answer that although salah is not exempted for a person who is sick but if they are indeed sick to an extent they can’t stand , they may sit and pray and if they can’t do that then lay down and pray and such is the Mercy of Allah SWT .

In Islam and according to the Hadith, a Muslim must pray their 5 Daily Prayers unless they have a physical disability that is stopping them for moving (paralyzed). There are ways to pray if you are sick so I would recommend watching some YouTube videos on it.

To your second questions, a Muslim with long term health is not obligated to go to Hajj if their physical status is preventing them. The Prophet Muhammad SAW said that there are 6 people exempt from Hajj, and one of them is the sick/injured.

I hope that answers your questions Inshallah.
