I was in the same situation, if you increase istaghfar and try to gain more knowledge on deen, Allah will help you either in sabr or by granting your dua.
If the person you are seeing knows you are Muslim then simply tell them you don’t want to do anything haram. And slowly reduce the connection untill Allah reunites you.
Additionally you’re hurting then more by keeping them in the haram relationship because they will regret you on the day of judgement.
Try to spend more time with your family and with Allah and make lots and lots of dua inshallah either you will get them or forget them.
